Apartment block fire charges, Surfers Paradise

Police have charged a girl following a fire at a vacant apartment block at Surfers Paradise on August 9.

Emergency services were called to the apartment block on the Esplanade around 8.20pm with the building suffering significant damage.

Detectives have charged a 16-year-old Biggera Waters girl with one count of endangering property by fire.

She will be deal with under the provisions of the Youth Justices Act.
