Armed robbery, Algester

Police are investigating following the armed robbery of a taxi driver in Algester overnight.

Shortly after midnight the taxi reportedly attended Dalmeny Street to collect a fare when a man entered the taxi, produced a knife and demanded money from the driver.

The taxi driver complied with the demands and the man fled the scene on foot with a sum of cash and a mobile phone.

The 28-year-old male taxi driver was not physically harmed during the incident.

Investigations are continuing.
