Concern for welfare – Darwin

Northern Territory Police are calling for information on the whereabouts of 14-year-old George Gilder.
Detective Senior Sergeant Rob Jordan said police believe the youth stole a white Toyota Rukus and that it may be used to commit further offences in the Darwin area.

The vehicle was stolen from the suburb of Lyons on 13 March and has NT registration CC 07 IP.

Police hold grave concerns about the actions being undertaken by this youth.

“The combination of an inexperienced driver, the manner in which the vehicle is being driven and the danger posed to members of the public and the youth himself is extremely high,” Detective Senior Sergeant Jordan said.

“Police are asking George Gilder to consider the risks he is taking and possible consequences of his actions, and to hand himself in to police.”

We ask members of the public not to approach George, but to report any sightings of him or the vehicle.  Anyone with information is urged to contact 131 444 or call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
