A 28-year-old man has been arrested and charged for allegedly filming and/or photographing young boys in toilet cubicles in the Sutherland Shire.

Around 3pm on Friday 30 October 2015, an eight-year-old boy was confronted by a man inside a toilet block at a shopping centre in Menai.

The man allegedly photographed the boy inappropriately before the boy fled and alerted his mother.

Nearly a week later, on Thursday 5 November, a 16-year-old boy was also inappropriately filmed/photographed by a man inside a public toilet within the same shopping centre.
Police commenced an investigation into the incidents, calling for witnesses who may have seen suspicious activity near the shopping centre toilets on the dates in question.

Yesterday (Thursday 12 November 2015), officers arrested a 28-year-old Illawong man.

He was taken to Sutherland Police Station and charged with a number of offences relating to committing acts of indecency against children.

The man was granted strict conditional bail and is scheduled to appear before Sutherland Local Court on 10 December 2015.
