Police search for thief in Richmond

Wednesday, 12 August 2015 04:07

Yarra Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the theft of a charity tin from a business in Richmond last month.

Investigators have been told a man entered the Bridge Road business about 4.30pm on 30 July.

It is alleged that the man stole a Legacy donation tin from the front counter before leaving the store.

The man is described as being Caucasian, aged in his mid-20s and was wearing a sky blue zip up hooded top, black jeans, black beanie and sneakers with bright green laces.

Detective Senior Constable Drew Laughlin said the timing of the crime was especially poor.

“this is a particularly disheartening crime given Legacy week is coming up at the end of this month.”

Police have released images and CCTV of a man that they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.
