Unlawful wounding charge, New Auckland

Police have charged a 38-year-old man with unlawful wounding following investigations into a disturbance at New Auckland this morning.

Police will allege around 10am the man stabbed another man in the chest following an altercation at a Sharyn Drive residence.

A 33-year-old Kirkwood man was taken to Gladstone Hospital for treatment.  His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A 38-year-old New Auckland man has been charged with one count of unlawful wounding and is due to appear in the Gladstone Magistrates Court on September 15.
