A man and woman have been charged as investigations continue following a police operation in Sydney’s south-west yesterday.
Emergency services were called to a factory unit on Heald Road, Ingleburn, about 10.45am (Monday 7 March 2016), following reports of a shooting.
Officers from Macquarie Fields and neighbouring Local Area Commands attended and located three men – aged 43, 41 and 34 – with gunshot wounds.
Police and Ambulance Paramedics conducted CPR; however, the 43-year-old man died at the scene.
The other men were taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment. The older man is in a serious but stable condition and the younger man has minor injuries.
A 30-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man were assisted from the building and taken to Macquarie Fields Police Station.
Shortly after 5pm, officers from the Tactical Operations Unit entered the premises and located three male employees, who were taken to safety and attended to by Ambulance Paramedics.
The alleged gunman – a 33-year-old man – was also located deceased.
The 52-year-old man was later charged with discharge firearm in a public place and conceal serious indictable offence.
He has been refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today (Tuesday 8 March 2016).
The 30-year-old woman was charged with conceal serious indictable offence.
She has been granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on Monday 4 April 2016.
Police from the South West Metropolitan Region and the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad continue with their investigation into the incident.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
