Police investigate crash – Cataract, north of Wollongong

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash at Cataract, north of Wollongong, today.

About 9.20am (Wednesday 13 July 2016), police and emergency services were called to the M1 Princes Motorway (Mount Ousley Road), following reports a tree had fallen on a Mitsubishi Triton utility whilst travelling southbound near the Picton Road overpass.

The cab of the utility was crushed and the driver, and only occupant, was trapped.

Whilst being treated, he died at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
