HOMEMADE LEMONADE

Ingredients

  • Fresh lemon juice
  • sugar (as many glasses as the lemon juice)
  • Shavings from a 1/2 lemon for every glass of lemon juice

Method

 We strain the lemon juice, measure it with a glass and put in a large, clean bowl. We measure as many glasses of sugar as the lemon juice. So if we put 3 glasses of lemon juice, we put 3 glasses of sugar. We put the sugar in the bowl and add the shavings from half a lemon for every glass of juice. We stir slightly so the sugar will melt. We cover the bowl and leave it at room temperature for 3 hours. The lemonade is ready and we put it in clean bottles. Keep it in the refrigerator for 4 – 5.  To serve, fill a glass with 1/3 of lemonade and the rest with cold water and ice cubes. We can change the taste by putting more or less lemonade or water. If we don’t like chewing the lemon shavings, we strain the lemonade with a small tea strainer before we serve.
