Today the Cypriot Community of Sydney is celebrating!
We asked from the president of the Cypriot Community Mr Sotiris Tsouris to talk to us about this special day.
”Today we are celebrating the 27 years since the day we were settled in Stanmore, after leaving from Druitt Street. It is a special day”, continuous touched the president Mr Tsouris. ”because the Administrative Council in 1988 took a big decision to purchase the current building in which we are established. The Administrative Council was confirmed because both the potentials of the building and parking opened up new prospects from Cypriot Community to expand its activity. Today we face a new challenge waiting the new urban plan of the Local Municipality to be approved. Once the urban plan will be approved the current Administrative Council is preparing to take a new decision for the creation of a new place that will establish the Cypriot Community. Our plan are inspired of a Cypriot Village with parks and functions for all ages”.
We from our part wish Happy Birthday to the Cypriot Community of Sydney and we wish them their plans to come true soon!
Finally we want to remind that the current president, Mr Tsouris was to the Administrative Council in 1988 as an assistant secretary.
