Our favorite actor Kostas Tsakonas, after 5 years that he was fighting with cancer, he passed away on Wednesday afternoon.
I had personally met Kostas Tsakonas 25 years ago to Klafthmonos square in Athens.
He was a popular guy, just like you were seeing him on TV. Simple, communicative, without having the the style of a star!
The interview with Kostas Tsakonas was one of my first interviews and it was a very good experience for me. With him was his then beloved, Vera Gouma.
The interview turned into a discussion, where Kostas Tsakonas in a very good mood, he started telling me about his life and the difficulties he had.
When I interviewed Kostas Tsakonas he was a very famous protagonist to many video movies that had great success!
He told me: “I was a handyman, electrician, plumber! How I became an actor? This is a good question. Neither I figured it”.
And when I told him: “You are talented, we all admire you and you make us laugh. For me you are a great actor”, then he just answered me: “Do you believe this?”
He never imagined that he was going to become an actor and that he had so much success. Everything happened suddenly and quickly.
Jokingly he told me: “My baldness helped me!”
The time for the interview was for an hour and ended up to discuss as friends for 2,5 hours!
It was an interview-discussion that I will never forget.
Just remember that Kostas Tsakonas was born on 12 October 1943.
His first appearance was in a totally random way in a short time film of Kostas Zyrinis.
He became famous from the film: “Mathe paidi mou grammata”, and we also watch him to: “Ti ehoun na doun ta matia mou”, “O tokoglyfos”, “Ippotis tis ligouras”, “O papa…mafias”, “Keratas kai darmenos”, “Gia mia houfta touvla”, “Pontios eimai oti thelo kano”, “O kynigos tis hamenis falakras”, “Roda, tsanta kai kopana No3”, “I gynaikara ap’to kilkis”, “Falakros stohos”, “Horis malli kai gnosi”, “O anthropos apo to Tsernobil”, “Oi pontioi”, “O fakiris” and many other films.
