Samsung has filled an application for a patent for the incorporation of an iris sensor in one of the future models of the company.  Most likely the Samsung Galaxy Note 7.

The development of the iris sensor is not new for Samsung, They are trying this project since 2014.

This iris recognition system consists of three different lenses, a device for regulating the illumination and an image processing system. The company aims so that the sensor can focus the user’s eye without blinding.
