A man is due to face court today following the alleged attempted sexual assault of a 12-year-old boy in a public toilet at a shopping centre in Bass Hill.
About 8.15pm on Saturday 22 April 2017, the boy walked into a public toilet inside the shopping complex on the Hume Highway.
As he entered the facility he noticed a man in a cubicle with the door open.
The boy quickly moved to leave the facility but the man grabbed him by his waist and pulled him into the cubicle.
Police were told the man hit the boy across his head while attempting to pull him closer.
As the assault was occurring two men entered the toilet facility which startled the man allowing the boy to break free and run out.
Just before 7pm yesterday (Sunday 23 April 2017), a 46-year-old man attended Bankstown Police Station, where he was arrested and charged with assault with intent to have sexual intercourse with children between 10-16.
The man was refused bail and is due to appear at Bankstown Local Court today (Monday 24 April 2017).
