Attempted murder charges, North Mackay
Police investigating two assaults in North Mackay on August 30 have charged a man.
It will be alleged around 7.50pm, police were called to an address on Daniel Street, North Mackay after a 23-year-old man was located with lacerations to his face.
Further investigations led police to an address on Harris Street in Beaconsfield where a 27-year-old man was discovered unconscious and with head injuries.
Both men were taken to the Mackay Base Hospital for treatment where the 27-year-old man remains in an induced coma.
Police have charged a 28-year-old Mackay man with two counts of attempted murder.
He is scheduled to appear before the Mackay Magistrates Court today.
