A 53-year-old Coominya man was forced to flee from a house after four men broke-in around 1am.
Preliminary information indicates the man disturbed the group in the kitchen area of the Vineyard Road house, after he heard noises and went to investigate.
Following a brief struggle in the kitchen the man ran out and onto the back patio, where he was tackled to the ground and another struggle ensued.
The man managed to free himself and escape to a neighbouring house where he alerted police.
After conducting a search of the residence, the men fled the scene on foot and were last seen on Vineyard Road heading in the direction of Brisbane Valley Highway.
The man received minor cuts and abrasions. Police investigations are continuing.
