Police are investigating an incident at Maryborough overnight that has left one man with a gunshot wound.
Officers were called to a Snapper Street address around midnight where they located the injured 41-year-old man. He was taken to the Hervey Bay Hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening wound to his leg.
Investigations led police to a River Road address where police believed a man who could assist them was located. A 35-year-old man was taken into custody around 6am and is currently assisting police with inquiries.
It is believed the two men are known to each other.
Two crime scenes have been established with investigations continuing.
