Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after an attempted robbery and assault in Sydney’s CBD overnight.
About 9pm (Tuesday 1 December 2015), a 24-year-old man approached a group of up to five people on George Street, near Albion Lane.
Police have been told after walking a short distance to Central Street, members of the group demanded the man’s phone and money.
The man refused and was pulled to the ground and punched and kicked.
The group, made up of both males and females, fled empty handed.
NSW Ambulance Paramedics treated the man on scene before he was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for treatment of abrasions to his face and elbow.
Detectives from Sydney City Local Area Command would like to speak to anyone with information about the incident.
