Coach charged with child grooming – Campbelltown

Police are appealing for information after a coach at a sporting club in Sydney’s Macarthur region was charged earlier this month with grooming a child.

About 4.20pm on Friday 2 October 2015, detectives from Campbelltown Local Area Command arrested a 25-year-old man in Campbelltown.

He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he was charged with grooming child under 16 for unlawful sexual activity.

Police will allege that the Campbelltown man, who was a hockey coach in the Campbelltown and Macarthur region, attempted to groom a student for sexual activity in June this year.

He appeared before Campbelltown Local Court on Monday 12 October 2015 where he was given strict conditional bail to reappear at Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday 9 December 2015.

Police are urging anyone with information about the matter or any similar incidents to come forward.
