Man arrested after robbery at Hectorville

A man has been arrested and charged after a robbery at Hectorville last night.

Just before 10.30pm, police will allege that a man armed with a knife entered the Coles Express service station on Montacute Road and threatened staff, while demanding cash and cigarettes.

The man fled the store,  however patrols arrived at the scene several minutes later, and he was located in St. Bernards Road.

No one was injured during the incident.

The knife used in the incident was recovered in a nearby park.

A 22-year-old man from Salisbury East was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery, state false name and address and two counts of aggravated assault police.  He was refused bail.
