Newtown detectives have charged a former dance teacher and teacher’s aide with possessing child abuse material.
Police began investigating the alleged offences in September 2015, and seized a computer and mobile phone last month, following a search warrant at the man’s Merrylands home.
Following specialist analysis of the items, yesterday (Thursday 10 December 2015), officers arrested a 48-year-old man at Newtown Police Station.
He was charged with production/possession of child abuse material, stalking, incite production/possession of child abuse material, and access child abuse material.
The man was refused bail, to appear before Newtown Local Court today (Friday 11 December 2015).
