Police investigate armed robberies – Canterbury, Ashfield

Police are investigating an armed robbery and an attempted armed robbery in Sydney’s inner-west which are linked.

About 2am today (Thursday 4 February 2016), a man entered a service station on Canterbury Road, Canterbury and threatened the console operator with a screwdriver.

No money was handed over and the man ran from the scene.

About 2.40am, the same man entered a service station on Liverpool Road, Ashfield, and threatened staff by saying he had a knife.

He was handed an amount of cash and fled the scene on foot. The attendants at both locations were uninjured.

The man is described as Caucasian, about 180cm tall, with short black hair. He was wearing a light coloured t-shirt, light brown coloured pants, black shoes and a brown baseball cap with a black peak.
