Police investigate attempted armed robbery of pizza restaurant – St Marys

Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted armed robbery of a pizza restaurant at St Marys last night.

About 10.30pm (Thursday 24 September 2015), two males armed with metal bars entered the restaurant on Gallipoli Street.

A female working in the store ran to the back. Her co-worker, a 27-year-old man, was confronted by one of the men, who threatened him and demanded money.

The armed pair fled the scene a short time later empty handed. Both employees were uninjured.

Officers attached to St Marys Local Area Command were contacted and established a crime scene.

As inquiries into the incident continue, police would like to speak to two males who may be able to assist them.

Both males are described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance. One of the males is further described as being about 178cm tall, and of solid build.
