Police investigate house fire – Cabramatta

Police are investigating following a house fire in Sydney’s south-west overnight.

About 12.40am (Sunday 10 July 2016), emergency services were called to Edensor Road, Cabramatta West, where they found a house well alight.

NSW Fire & Rescue officers attended and extinguished the fire which had partially destroyed the home.

Six children, aged between 1 and 14, had already evacuated.

A relative, a 22- year-old man was electrocuted outside the home. NSW Ambulance Paramedics attended and treated the man before he was taken to Liverpool Hospital, in a stable condition.

Three of the children were also treated for smoke inhalation before they were taken to Liverpool Hospital as a precaution.

Officers from Cabramatta Local Area Command established a crime scene and commenced investigating the incident.

The fire is believed to have started at a heater and is not being treated as suspicious.
