Police have charged a man following an armed robbery in Greenacre yesterday.
Emergency services were called to a store on Waterloo Road, Greenacre at 3pm yesterday (Tuesday 14 March 2017), following reports of an armed robbery.
Police have been told that a man entered the store and made his way to a store room before allegedly stealing a number of items.
The man was confronted by a worker and allegedly produced a knife before surrendering it to the employee.
Officers from Bankstown Local Area Command attended and arrested a 37-year-old man.
Police located the man’s vehicle a short distance away from the store, and whilst searching it allegedly located a knife and a small resealable bag of methyl-amphetamine and several packets of prescription drugs.
He was taken to Bankstown Police Station and charged with armed robbery, possessing prohibited drugs and possessing a controlled restricted substance.
The man was refused bail and will appear before Bankstown Local Court today (Wednesday 15 March 2017).
