Man charged after an incident in Parmelia

A 41 year old Parmelia man will appear in the Rockingham Magistrates Court today charged with Aggravated Burglary and stealing after an incident yesterday.

It is alleged about 4am on Monday 10 August 2015, the man entered a home in Sulphur Road, Parmelia.

Whilst inside he was confronted by the occupants and he ran from the home.

A struggle took place between the man and a home occupant. The offender received facial injuries during the struggle and was treated in hospital.

The 41 year old Parmelia man has been charged with Aggravated Burglary and Stealing.

The occupant of the home is not facing charges in this instance.

In general terms, home owners are able to use reasonable force to defend their property. Police are obliged to examine this on a case by case basis.
