Thursday, 27 August 2015 03:31:56 AM

Three youths have been charged over the alleged armed robbery of a pizza store which occurred in North Strathfield earlier this week.

About 8.40pm on Monday (24 August 2015), three males entered the store on Concord Road with their faces covered and armed with knives and an axe.

Two of the males ran towards the counter where a 42-year-old man was working, while the third male stood guard at the entrance to the store.

The employee saw the armed men approaching and he ran out the back door. A 22-year-old man who was inside the premises waiting for his pizza was threatened with a knife while they attempted to open the cash register.

Their attempts were unsuccessful and the three armed males left the store empty handed.

Police were called and a crime scene was established by officers from Burwood Local Area Command.

About 6pm yesterday (Wednesday 26 August 2015), three young males, aged 15, 16 and 17, attended Burwood Police Station in company with the Grandfather of one of the boys.

The three boys were arrested and all three were charged with armed robbery.

All three were given conditional bail to appear at Parramatta Children’s Court on 17 September 2015.
