Three guns stolen during break and enter – Glenfield Park

Three firearms have been stolen during a break and enter near Wagga Wagga.

Yesterday morning (Thursday 1 October 2015), police were contacted after a woman discovered that her home in Glenfield Park had been broken into.

Officers attended the property – on Mima Street – and spoke to the 62-year-old woman who had woken around 7am to find that her home had been broken into.

A mobile phone and three firearms, registered to the woman’s husband, had been stolen from the property. The woman’s ransacked handbag was found on a footpath outside the home.

The three stolen firearms are:

– A Miroku double-barrelled shotgun;

– An El Gamo Shadow 1000 rifle; and,

– A Lithgow 1B rifle.

An investigation into the incident is now underway. Initial inquiries indicate the break, enter and steal occurred sometime between 10pm on Wednesday (30 September 2015) and 7am yesterday (Thursday 1 October 2015).
