Police charge man following armed robbery – Erina

Police have charged a man after he allegedly robbed a Central Coast service station while armed with a knife last night.

About 9.30pm (Tuesday 11 August 2015), two men entered a service station on the Central Coast Highway at Erina, one allegedly armed with a knife.

The female store attendant ran into the rear office and locked the doors.

Police from Brisbane Water Local Area Command were alerted to the incident and arrived a short time later.

Officers arrested a 24-year-old man at the scene; however, the other man was not located.

The store attendant was not injured during the incident.

The man was taken to Gosford Police Station and charged with robbery while armed with an offensive weapon

He has been refused bail and is due to appear at Gosford Local Court today (Wednesday 12 August 2015).

A crime scene was established and examined by specialist forensic officers.

Investigations are continuing.
