Police investigate armed robbery at service station – Wiley Park

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an armed robbery at a service station in Wiley Park last night.

About 9.30pm (Monday 24 August 2015) a 25-year-old employee was working alone at a service station on Punchbowl Road.

He was stocking the fridge opposite the entrance when a man entered holding a machete. The man approached the employee demanding cash.

The employee complied and walked over to the console area where he opened the cash register and handed over a sum of money.

The armed man took the cash and left the premises on foot heading west along Punchbowl Road.

Police from Campsie Local Area Command were called and an investigation is now underway.

The man has been described as having dark coloured skin, about 180cm tall and wearing a black hooded jumper with the hood on, and dark coloured pants.
