Search for missing woman at Mount Erica

Police are searching for a hiker who has failed to return from a day hike in Mount Erica yesterday.

The 53-year-old woman called a friend about 6.40pm when she became aware she was lost.

The friend raised the alarm.

Warragul police along with SES began a search for the Lakes Entrance woman but she was unable to be located.

The Search and Rescue Squad and Dog Squad along with local police are due to begin assisting SES with the search this morning in the Baw Baw National Park.
